McWhorter Records is the dream of founder & President Kirk S. McWhorter, of Attica, NY. His background as a musician spans the last 28 years, playing every style of music from New Age & Top 40, to Big Band & Heavy Metal. He has finally found his true love and calling in Celtic Music, and is continuing a successful performing career with his band Penny Whiskey who are currently recording their latest CD to be released on the McWhorter Records label.

Educated at The Recording Workshop of Chillicothe, OH, Kirk gained a practical application of his knowledge by working under Fred Betchen at a top studio outside of Buffalo, NY. After working his way up from an un-paid intern, to the position of head engineer, Kirk finally decided to follow his dreams and go independent.

Now, after years of hard work, and personal growth he is happy to be able to offer the finest in recording and music production at his home facility "West Highland Studio" located in Attica NY. With the many professional contacts and friends he has made over the years, McWhorter Records can meet any needs you may have, and if we can't - we know who can, and we’ll point you in the right direction.
